Effects of Typhoon “Neoguri” in Japan
The severe typhoon „Neoguri“ caused heavy rainfall in the South of Japan. Authorities declared the highest alert phase and warned of landslides and flooding.
At the same time the country’s North was hit by an earthquake of magnitude 5,8 on Japan’s northernmost main island of Hokkaido.
All flights from and to Okinawa have been canceled. Also ferry traffic and bus service had to be stopped, highways were closed.
The storm is expected to reach the southwestern island of Kyushu on Thursday.
